Thanksgiving 2012

I've totally been dragging my feet on posting because, the simple fact is, we have been busy this winter despite the, ahem, inclement weather. (Can we all agree that it's time for this cold to go ahead and move on??) It has been so hard to document as we went along so now I have a mountain of photos and events to discuss. Plus now I've gotten out of the habit of posting so it's doubly difficult. But I know it's going to keep piling up so I've just got to put my nose to the grindstone and knock it out so I can move on. Therefore, here is the first in a series of catchup posts...

We really enjoyed (but were also exhausted by) the fact that we were actually in town for the holidays this year. For Thanksgiving we had lunch at Paul's grandparents' house along with about 40 other family members. We enjoyed a massive and delicious Mama Sue feast and Wilder thought he was big stuff getting to eat at one of the kids' tables, instead of being parked next to me in a high chair. He ate so good and was so cute trying to talk to the boys at the table about Spiderman and other "boy stuff".
As soon as lunch was over he high-tailed it to the toy closet and was pretty much holed up in there the rest of the afternoon.
So thankful for these two boys
After the Taylor Thanksgiving we went to my grandmother's house for dinner. Most of the Dabney family was out of town so Thanksgiving there was super low-key and a nice way to wind down after the busy afternoon. We brought down my mom's old rocking horse that was being stored in the attic and Wilder had fun playing with it and being the center of attention in general. Somehow I took no pictures but did manage to get a short video of him half riding, half being distracted by the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV.
Also that weekend we had a playdate with my bloggy friend, Lindsay, and her son who is exactly one week younger than Wilder. They live in New Orleans so whenever we're both in town for holidays we try to get together. She makes adorable kids' hoodies and other hand-crafted items (check out her Etsy shop here) so she asked if she could put one of her dino hoodies on Wilder and snap some photos for her store while the boys played. They both looked so cute and she surprised us by giving Wilder the hoodie when we left. So sweet! We always have fun with Lindsay and B!
So there was Thanksgiving. Next up, you guessed it, Christmas! ;)
